This week's PlayStation Store update (12/4/08) brings you Qore Episode 7, for free. A holiday treat from the PlayStation Network. See a preview video of Qore #7 below. Annual Qore subscribers do not fret, because looks like you guys are getting an even sweeter deal: the first gameplay demo of Capcom's FLOCK!.
From the Associate Producer on FLOCK!:
"This demo includes six levels, letting you play three of the four animals in the full game - the Sheep, the Cow, and the Pig. Also included are two of the seasons - Autumn and (of course) Winter. I think you'll find the six levels to be a great taste of the gameplay FLOCK! has to offer in its 50 single player levels (not including co-op levels!).
We're also including the game's map editor! This is the same tool as we're using to make levels for FLOCK!, so we're looking forward to seeing how you use it. As you progress through the demo, you'll unlock new items to play with in the editor. In the full game, you'll even be able to save your levels and upload them to share with your friends."
Check it out tomorrow on the PLAYSTATION 3's PSN!

Well, another Wednesday, another glorious gaming update for you. I just wanted to brief you in on the GamingBits Podcast, which will air this weekend! Hopefully Sha'ul has some treats for us for the dreaded wait. Anyway, today's update is highlighted by Activision Blizzard, as 2 major things happened with them. Check it out below!
Microsoft - Xbox 360
[Activision Blizzard Ad deal]
- Looks like Microsoft's advertising unit, Massive inc. and Activision Blizzard have made a deal to push out ads for 18 of Activision's games and Battle.net.
Source: adn.com
[Xbox 360 Portable]
- Now what I would do to have one of Ben Heck's amazing Xbox 360 mods! He just made a portable Xbox 360 laptop (without a keyboard) and it's running on the new Xbox Experience. It's pretty cool. Click the link below to see pictures and a video of the portable Xbox 360.

[Xbox 360 Deal of the week]
- Microsoft now has a deal of the week running throughout December. This week's deal is a discount on Halo 3's Legendary Map Pack, priced down to 400 Microsoft Points from 600 Microsoft Points. Oh, and FYI, it's for Xbox LIVE Gold Members only.

Nintendo - Wii, DS
[Dragon Quest IX Wii Rumor-Bit]
- Sounds like the game Dragon Quest IX, a game previously announced for the DS, will be heading to the Wii also. Although there is no confirmation, 1UP believes it will use the same technology as what the Final Fantasy game will use.

[Gardening Mama]
- Remember the game, Cooking Mama? Well, she won't be cooking this time. She'll be gardening. Thats right, Majesco entertainment has announced Gardening Mama for the Nintendo DS and it will arrive in Spring 2009.

Sony - PLAYSTATION 3, PSP
[Uncharted 2]
- The new Uncharted 2 teaser trailer has surfaced and is now available for your viewing pleasure! Check it out on YouTube.

[Activision Blizzard]
- Activision today has announced their huge line of games coming next year, and it looks like Call of Duty: World At War wasn't as appealing to the audience as their new game (Call of Duty 6) will be: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, coming Fall 2009. That's right, we're going back to the future... yeah. Also, Guitar Hero 5 and a new Tony Hawk game with a controller will be releasing in '09.

[Rock Band 2]
- Harmonix looks like it has plans of a new instrument peripheral coming sometime next year. The new "instrument" will use the black drum port on the back of the Rock Band 2 wireless drumset. This has been previously rumored to be a second drum pedal, but it's a new instrument.

Atari is prepping us for a big rush of games, with today's announcement of their upcoming titles for 2009. Here's a rundown of the games you can expect from Atari:
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Coming to Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and PCs in Spring 2009.
Fans of the Riddick films and the original Xbox game, Escape from Butcher Bay, have been anticipating this title from Starbreeze Studios (count me too!). The FPS game introduces multiplayer gameplay this time around.
"The Chronicles of Riddick series of games takes the player deeper into the universe of Universal Pictures' films The Chronicles of Riddick and cult classic Pitch Black, which first introduced Vin Diesel as enigmatic anti-hero Riddick. In The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena the player takes the role of Riddick using stealth and action to overcome the merciless crew of the predatory Merc-ship Dark Athena which awaits its prey in the dark reaches of space. Cheating death through a series of spectacular battles and events, Riddick will fight for his life amid a storm of malevolence and horror."
Yes, Escape from Butcher Bay is included as a bonus (re-mastered!). Check out a few screenshots from The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena here.
The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf
Coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in autumn 2009.
The PC RPG has been confirmed for home consoles, but don't expect a simple port over. It's being built from the ground up by developer CD Projekt RED.
"Based on the universe created by best-selling Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf puts players in the role of Geralt, a professional monster slayer who exists on the fringes of a complex society troubled by the kind of problems more commonly found on the front pages of newspapers than in a fantasy universe. Taken as a child, mutated, and trained in the arcane ways of the witchers, Geralt is a reluctant hero, who nonetheless finds himself all too frequently in the heat of battles that are not his own. In this world there is no right or wrong, only decisions and consequences."
Take two minutes and check out a newly released teaser trailer for The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf here! See the first screenshots here.
Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution
Coming to Wii in spring 2009.
That's a game we haven't heard of in a while! Atari has announced the boxing game, which some of you may remember from the Dreamcast era, is coming to the Wii. Motion controls included, of course.
"Sure to satisfy newcomers and boxing fans alike, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution features a roster of 18 wildly caricatured cartoony boxers based on celebrities from the worlds of sports, music and movies. Celebrities enter the ring as larger-than-life “Rumble-ized” versions of themselves. Players will step right up and see if they can knock these super-sized egos down a peg or two! The game is hosted by “The Voice of the Champions” Michael Buffer, famous for his “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble®” trademark call. "
Check out the first screenshots of Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution here (isn't one of the characters in there the creepy Meatloaf character from Fight Club?).
Q3 (Qubed) (working title)
Coming to the Xbox 360 in spring 2009.
Atari bundles three of Q Entertainment's and Tetsuya Mizuguchi's best games into one package: Rez HD, Lumines Live!, and E4 (Every Extend Extra Extreme). While they're currently available from the Xbox LIVE Arcade, this will be the first time the 3 games are released in one collection. Phil Harrison, President of Infogrames Entertainment, the parent company of Atari said “Q3 is a must-have in any self-respecting gamers collection, and so it’s an exciting opportunity to bring these superb titles to a new audience of gamers with a full retail release.”
Other upcoming games from Atari UK include:
Codename Panzers: Cold War
Heroes Over Europe
Family Ski & Snowboard
My Horse and Me: Riding for Gold
Sacred 2: The Fallen Angel
Sam & Max Season Two
Tekken 6
The Chase: Felix Meets Felicity
From the ATARI LIVE showcase event in London. Watch for more on Atari.com.

Nintendo has announced today's new downloadable games from the Wii Shop. Here's what you'll find on the Wii Shop today for WiiWare and Virtual Console games, available starting at 9am PST!
WiiWare Releases:
SPACE INVADERS GET EVEN (Taito, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older-Cartoon Violence, 500 Wii Points): The Space Invaders are back, and this time they're out to get even. Take control of a UFO and make those Earthlings pay by unleashing your fleet of heroic invaders against their puny tanks, fighter jets and artillery-but watch out for the massive boss awaiting you at the end of each stage. Use your invaders' five attack types and the might of the mother ship to rack up high scores, then upload them via Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection and see where you stand in the global rankings. (Note: Router and broadband access required for online play. For more info, visit www.nintendo.com.)
Pit Crew Panic! (Hudson Entertainment, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Pit Crew Panic! is a frantic, action-packed game that unfolds on the racing circuit. During the game, the pit crew is not only faced with repairing vehicles, but also various WHATSITs. Handling the WHATSIT repairs is a pit crew made up of legendary beauties. The controls are simple: Just grab a member of the crew with the Wii Remote™ controller's A Button, then release the button when the Pointer is over the damaged PART, and that crew member will begin repairs. Assign repairs to the members of your team and provide support using the Wii Remote to send a fully repaired WHATSIT out of the pit as quickly as you can. The game features Normal mode, which can be played using one of two rules: Abnormal mode (players split into two teams and compete against each other) and Ranking mode (compete with players around the world for the top record). Each mode can be played with a maximum of four Wii Remote controllers, allowing you to team up with friends and family. Your teamwork could lead to outstanding records.
Virtual Console Release:
METAL SLUG 2 (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen-Blood and Gore, Violence, 900 Wii Points): Released in 1998 by SNK, METAL SLUG 2 is a side-scrolling military-action game. Players choose from Marco, Tarma, Eri and Fio, setting their sights on wiping out Morden's newly remobilized Rebellion Army. Just like the original METAL SLUG, players blaze a trail by shooting and jumping, but METAL SLUG 2 adds a new arsenal for you to command, including a heavy machine gun, a shotgun and even a laser gun, providing players with rich variety. Battle effects are packed in, as well-players turn into mummies after getting caught in poison gas coughed up by mummies. After picking up too many food items, characters turn fat, but they get an attack-strength upgrade. Two-player action is supported, too, so players can have a blast with their friends.
