Rumor: First details of Halo: Reach leaked with screenshots E-mail
Xbox 360 News Bits

Last night, an MLG forum user that goes by the name of "ToM MoReLLo" has apparently obtained leaked screenshots of the upcoming Xbox 360 game, Halo: Reach. The new screenshots show quite a bit of information containing what is to be believed the first campaign level and a few new weapons. "ToM MoReLLo" went into detail on how the first few missions were like, but it has been bleeped out by NeoGAF.com to avoid spoilers. Here is some new info which has been posted on NeoGAF:

"Gameplay Details:
New Carbine - new carbine that shoots needles, and explodes when 3 needles are hit.

BR - it is a one shot battle rifle with 12 rounds, pretty powerful and effective long range.

Perks: This is what the HUD looks like. In the bottom left, you can see your squadmates health and names.
Right above the radar shows what perks you are carrying. When I played there were 3 perks-sprinting, cloaking, and halogram.

The sprinting makes you run when you hold LB, cloaking makes you invisible (when you cloak your radar jams and you can't really hear anything around you). The halogram creates a hologram of yourself, so enemies will shoot at both."

With the mention of perks, new weapons, and a new drop in co-op mode, could these pictures and information be the real thing? Watch for more developments soon!

You won't have to save Zelda this time in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks [video, screens] E-mail
Nintendo DS and DSi News Bits
Written by Alexis M. (Rivithed)

Tired of saving the princess? For Link's next upcoming adventure on the Nintendo DS, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Nintendo has announced Zelda will be joining forces with Link to combat the evil in Hyrule. The gameplay changes up this time to break away from the traditional "save the princess" formula. By offering you the chance to play alongside Zelda, you'll get to learn more about her, as well as use some of her special powers.

Watch a trailer showing some of the gameplay with Zelda and Link below.

See screenshots and artwork from Nintendo here.

Here's how Link and Zelda will join forces in the game, as described by Nintendo:

"For the first time in the 23-year history of The Legend of Zelda series, Princess Zelda is leaving the villainous clutches of the underworld behind and joining the adventure with Link. In The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, the spirit of Zelda accompanies Link on his quest to save Hyrule. Directly impacting game play like never before, Zelda’s spirit can take control of hulking suits of armor known as Phantoms, allowing the player to direct both Link and these new allies as they battle enemies, solve puzzles and uncover secrets. Zelda also rides alongside Link on his customizable train, offering wisdom that will help players find new areas, storylines and items. The team of Link and Zelda presents countless new storyline details for fans to enjoy, including a closer look at Princess Zelda herself, one of the most iconic video game characters of all-time."

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will be available on December 7th in North America for the Nintendo DS and DSi. Watch for more details on The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks here at the official website. Saving the princess is so last gen.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Beta coming exclusively to PS3 on November 19th [video] E-mail
Sony PlayStation News Bits
Written by Alexis M. (Rivithed)
Friday, 06 November 2009

Electronic Arts and DICE, EA's game development studio, has announced that a multiplayer beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be coming on November 19th exclusively to the PlayStation 3. To access the beta, you'll need to get a beta key. That means you're going to have to show some early support of the game with your pre-order from GameStop (or Best Buy) in North America. More details will be coming soon for gamers in Europe on how to get the beta keys. If you pre-order now from GameStop, you also get the Limited Edition version for $59.99, which includes some bonus weapons and more combat advantages. You can see more details on the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition here.

Watch the PS3 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Beta announcement trailer below.

A PC beta of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be coming in December. Keep in mind that a Beta is different from a demo, which means you may encounter, and should report on, any gameplay issues. The demo for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be coming early next year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 looks like it's going for more of a realistic combat experience, with less humorous overtones as the original game had. The press release states: "Battlefield: Bad Company 2 provides a true all-out war experience like no other modern warfare game." A little jab at another FPS, which you probably may know about.

Go to www.battlefield.com for more details on Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Make sure you check out this interesting letter, where a fan sends DICE a check in support of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and their use of dedicated servers.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available on March 2, 2010 in North America and March 5, 2010 in Europe on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey coming to Nintendo DS E-mail
Nintendo DS and DSi News Bits
Written by Alexis M. (Rivithed)
Friday, 06 November 2009

Atlus USA has announced a new RPG game is coming to North America, set in the Shin Megami Tensei universe. Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is an upcoming "first-person science fiction RPG" for the Nintendo DS.

See the first screenshots of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey here.

Details from Atlus USA:
"In the near future, a mysterious, growing, black void appears at the Earth's southern pole. Unable to determine its cause and powerless to stop its deadly encroachment, humanity sends an elite team of explorers into the heart of the phenomenon, just as Strange Journey's look and feel represent a return to the heart of Shin Megami Tensei, bringing to mind the all-time classic Nocturne™. With over 300 demons to bribe, coerce, and negotiate with to gain assistance in battle, Strange Journey is every bit the deep, rewarding RPG experience fans have come to expect from the SMT franchise, yet delivered with a fresh new sci-fi story that taps into mature themes of morality and introspection."

Atlus USA notes that Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey has already been released in Japan to some critical acclaim, scoring a 10/9/9/8 from Famitsu.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is estimated for a March 2010 release on the Nintendo DS. Visit the official website of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey at www.atlus.com/strangejourney.
