Who doesn't love a pixel-crisp, highly detailed, side-scrolling shooter? If there's one series you can count for a side-scrolling combat fix, it's Metal Slug. Unless you are in the hardcore crowd of the Metal Slug saga, it's hard to keep with all the versions and what's going on in each of them. From the NEO GEO to Xbox LIVE Arcade to Wii, there's been quite a few to select from. Well shoot first, ask questions later. Ignition Entertainment is going to be packing some heat into your hands with the Nintendo DS release of Metal Slug 7 this November and it's looking as sharp, detailed and over the top as ever.
See 6 screenshots here.
Watch a video trailer of it below.
A summary of Metal Slug 7: "Players will join Marco, Tarma, Eri, Fiolina, Clark and Ralph as they prepare to take on Modern's Forces across 7 new missions that will bring them from Garbage Island to the Fortress of Ruins and beyond. Aside from featuring 7 brand new and fully detailed missions and six playable characters, Metal Slug 7 will also feature a host of new weapons, colossal new bosses, new Slugs to pilot and new gameplay modes for added replay value."
Metal Slug 7 is set for a November 18, 2008 release for $29.99 MSRP. Pre-order here .
Check out more of Metal Slug 7 here at the official website. Read up on the series there, check out the characters in the DS release, and watch for some illustrations coming soon.

SEGA and BioWare have announced that Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is golden. That means the game is done and getting replicated for its September 30, 2008 release. It's a unique direction for Sonic, going the RPG route. It was a big surprise when rumors of a "Sonic RPG" from BioWare first surfaced. Now it's time to see if BioWare has managed to deliver. BioWare's Raymond Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk discuss developing the DS role-playing game in the video below.
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood will be coming at the end of September from SEGA, exclusively on the Nintendo DS. If you're thinking about pre-ordering, GameStop is offering a Sonic Chronicles stylus 3-pack with Sonic, Knuckles and Shade. Pre-order here .

Hello Bit-Heads! I apologize about the missed update on Monday, but I'm sure all or most of you will like today's update. Anyway, I just hooked myself up with a PS3 and I've been playing Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet & Clank, Unreal Tournament 3, and enjoying each game! I got LittleBigPlanet and Mirror's Edge pre-ordered for the console and loving it to all extent.
Microsoft - Xbox 360
- [Rumor-Bit] Well, how about some refreshing achievements for your favorite game, Halo 3? Thirty new achievements were apparently shown off at PAX for the popular game along with some possible info regarding Bungie's next expansion. It looks like there are 3-6 more Skulls to collect from these Achievements and from my suspicions this might include stuff like, more Matchmaking maps, more Campaign levels, and a New Map maker. I guess if it's true we'll hear from Bungie this Friday in their weekly update. Check it out for yourself.

EDIT: A huge rumor has exploded on the web that the new campaign expansion can be seen on or before September 25th, a one year anniversary to Halo 3's Launch. This all exploded from the one Achievement description as seen in one of the pictures above.
"Vidmaster Challenge: Annual
After 9/25/08, completed Halo on 4-player Legendary LIVE co-op, with Iron, and everyone in Ghosts"
- It has been confirmed, from a previously reported Best Buy flyer, that the new Xbox 360 Arcade bundle will retail for $199.99, below the price of a Wii. Time to hook on Xbox LIVE now and play me or Rivithed.

GameDaily recently put up a post reporting that Sony Japan had confirmed an upcoming way to link directly to the Playstation Store via your Playstation Portable. According to the post:
"Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) confirmed that the company intends to launch a new network service this fall in order to allow PSP owners to directly connect to the PlayStation Store, meaning that gamers will be able to download content to the PSP without needing to transfer files from a PS3 or PC. Although this functionality has been talked about for some time, Sony Computer Entertainment America has yet to announce this feature for North America."
Hopefully, this feature will make it to the States, and I'm sure that if it is popular in Japan, Sony will basically be forced to release it here. As always we will let you know as soon as an announcement is made. To read the original article, click here.

A downloadable demo is now available for the Nintendo DS of the upcoming Spore Creatures game. You can get it from the Wii's Nintendo Channel. The demo highlights the Spore Creature Creator portion of the game and introduces the interface unique to the DS release. Build your creature, give it a unique name, and then take it out for a brief test drive. You won't encounter anything in the demo, but you can get a head start on how Spore will work on the DS and see if it's for you. The Spore Creatures Demo is listed as being available until 9/7/08, the launch date of Spore, so go check it out!
