'Life With PlayStation' Now Available For Download E-mail
Sony PlayStation News Bits
Written by Rivithed
Thursday, 18 September 2008
The PLAYSTATION 3 now offers "Life With PlayStation." What is Life With PlayStation? It's somewhat equivalent to the Wii's Weather and News Channel, where you can get the latest news and weather info happening around the globe. In Life With PlayStation, news feeds are provided by Google News and the weather is provided by The Weather Channel. It does zoom around the news a bit quicker than the Wii's News Channel, although the PS3's news feeds come up in a standard Google News page in a popup window. It would have been nice if it were in a more customized design. The interface and menus are a bit rough. There's random real-time images for cities as well. The cool thing is Folding@home runs in the background, so you're doing some good while you have it running.

It won't be so apparent how to get it. Make sure you have the latest firmware version, launch Folding@home and follow the updates. Life With PlayStation replaces the Folding@Home icon.

Check out a video demo of Life With PlayStation below, from the PlayStation Blog!

Sam & Max Season One Release Date Announced; Pre-Order Bonus E-mail
Nintendo News Bits
Written by Rivithed
Wednesday, 17 September 2008
Telltale Games has announced an October 7th release date for Sam & Max Season One on the Wii. It'll be the debut of the PC episodic series for home game consoles. There are some improvements on the Wii release, which Telltale noted as "technical improvements over the PC original, including widescreen support." Not a bad deal for a new Wii game at $29.99.

GameStop is offering a pre-order bonusicon, which is "a CD containing Sam & Max bonus content, including a behind-the-scenes "making of" featurette, trailers, concept art, a soundtrack sampler, and desktop wallpapers."

About Sam & Max Season One: "The Sam & Max series is structured like a TV series, with self-contained episodes that tie into a larger overarching storyline as the season progresses. The Wii version collects the first six-episode "season" of Sam & Max games on one retail disc. In Season One, straight-laced canine detective Sam and his psychotic "rabbity-thing" sidekick Max are on the hunt for the mastermind behind a baffling hypnosis conspiracy. Players get to interrogate suspects (with amusing results), uncover clues, solve puzzles, and ultimately piece together the underlying mystery that links the episodes."

See a trailer for Sam & Max Season One below.
