Landing just one week before the launch of Spore, EA has released a video trailer for the Spore Galactic Edition. The Spore Galactic Edition is what is commonly known as a "collector's edition" bundle. The video shows you what's included in the $79.99 bundle (spotted at $74.99 here):

Nintendo has come full circle with the DS color line-up. Today, Nintendo announced a Metallic Silver version of the Nintendo DS Lite, the first color of the Nintendo DS system. Starting next week, September 7th, the Metallic Silver DS will be available.
"The new Metallic Silver version makes a nice addition to any tech collection, whether you're a gadget hipster or fashionista," says Nintendo. Yes, it would go great with my MacBook Pro! Tempting.

A downloadable demo is now available for the Nintendo DS of the upcoming Spore Creatures game. You can get it from the Wii's Nintendo Channel. The demo highlights the Spore Creature Creator portion of the game and introduces the interface unique to the DS release. Build your creature, give it a unique name, and then take it out for a brief test drive. You won't encounter anything in the demo, but you can get a head start on how Spore will work on the DS and see if it's for you. The Spore Creatures Demo is listed as being available until 9/7/08, the launch date of Spore, so go check it out!

Resistance 2 will be getting the Collector's Edition treatment, and that doesn't happen too often from Sony. Check out the goods packed in the Resistance 2 Collector's Edition :

Insomniac Games, developers of the game, recently had an open voting on the cover of the Resistance 2: Collector's Edition on IGN.com. You can see the 3 that were available to vote on below (I hope #3 it is). The Resistance 2 Collector's Edition will be coming in November 2008, and is available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

Nintendo has announced today's releases for WiiWare and the Wii Virtual Console. Nintendo fans will be happy to hear that Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars has made it to the VC! The Super Mario RPG arrives from the SNES era, from Nintendo and Square. Awesome deal for $8. Hudson also releases a virtual aquarium for the Wii with My Aquarium. See a video of it below. The new releases arrive on the Wii Shop at 9am PST today.
WiiWare
My Aquarium (Hudson Entertainment, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): With swaying aquatic plants and fish idly swimming about, My Aquarium is a relaxing Wii experience that allows you to enjoy a virtual aquarium in your spare time. Whether freshwater or saltwater, you can select from over 40 popular types of fish, including favorites like the Ocellaris clownfish, the freshwater angelfish and the Asian arowana. You can also create up to six different aquariums and personalize them by adding decorations like seaweed and driftwood. In My Aquarium, you can send aquariums to your registered Wii Friends. The aquariums can even be set with special dates, such as a friend's birthday, that the fish will commemorate with a dance. Feed your fish and watch them steadily grow from fry to adult. Then, after meeting certain conditions, you can breed them. Another feature will allow you to interact with your fish using your Wii Remote™ controller in fun ways, like "tapping" the glass of your aquarium.
Virtual Console
Clu Clu Land™ (NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Take a deep breath and prepare for a puzzle game set in the underwater kingdom of Clu Clu Land. The greedy Sea Urchins have stolen all of Clu Clu Land’s gold bars and buried them in a series of mazes. As Bubbles, a brave bubble fish, you’ll set out to uncover all of the gold bars in each maze. But you’ll have to be careful: Sea Urchins will relentlessly pursue Bubbles, and there are also dangerous black holes that must be avoided. Bubbles isn’t defenseless, though, as she has the ability to stun Sea Urchins with sound waves and quickly change direction using posts scattered throughout the stages. Not only that, but the locations of the gold bars in each maze form the outline of another object—once you know the object, you’re well on your way to finding the gold. With 20 stages to complete and increasingly complex conditions (like having to pass over the gold bars twice to uncover them), you might just want to bring along a friend for help.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Super NES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): Set in the Mushroom Kingdom and featuring its cast of well-known characters, this adventure RPG begins with a familiar scenario: Mario™ must rescue Princess Toadstool™ from Bowser™. However, a mysterious new enemy named Smithy soon appears, and Mario and Bowser are forced to fight as allies for the first time in their long history. In the quest to defeat their powerful new foe, they’ll journey across a wide variety of locations (a town of mining moles, a tropical forest, a thundering waterfall—just to name a few) and tackle a mix of obstacles requiring both expert timing and strategy to overcome. Along the way, they’ll gain experience and grow more powerful, while also meeting new characters whose unique abilities will be needed to take on Smithy and his gang. Striking a perfect balance of traditional RPG elements and the action-packed game play Mario is famous for, it’s easy to see why this title has earned “legendary” status.

Bethesda Softworks has released a set of five videos for Fallout 3. Rule of 3 broken, Bethesda! We'll gladly take the extra two, though. In the videos, you'll see a part of Fallout 3 which the media had hands-on time with at the E3 2008 Business Summit. Or at least from what I could tell, since I drifted off course in awe of the nuclear landscape (and VATS system). The links to the videos are just behind the age gate below! A must see!
Fallout 3 will be released on October 28, 2008 for the Xbox 360 , PLAYSTATION 3 and PC .

Microsoft - Xbox 360
- The full list of achievements for Gears of War 2 have been leaked. Spoiler Alert! The game will feature 18 chapters (whoa!), some new modes, and some extremely hard achievements according to this list. Let's take a look at a couple:
- Seriously 2.0 - Kill 100,000 enemies, total, across all modes
- Blowed Up Real Good - Kill three enemies with a single grenade tag

Nintendo - Wii, DS
- [Rumor-Bit] An interesting rumor has made its way from a popular gaming board called 2Ch. A Biohazard 2 remake (known as Resident Evil 2 in the US) will be heading to the Wii sometime in the near future. Not much is known about the game as of yet. Let's just hope PAX sheds some light!

Sony - PLAYSTATION 3, PSP
- No credit card to buy the latest Ratchet & Clank game on the PSN? No problem! Sony released their new pre-paid cards that come in either $20 or $50 increments. They will not be available at Gamestop or Ebgames until 2009, but you can find them at Blockbuster, 7-Eleven, or Rite-aid.

- Rock Band 2 is just around the corner. So what downloadable content can we expect shortly after release? It will have some Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Megadeth, and also a few more. The Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 will get the first taste of the Silent Hill franchise with Silent Hill Homecoming. See the debut trailer for Silent Hill Homecoming, filled with flashes of disturbing imagery, below.
About Silent Hill Homecoming:

returning to his hometown of Shepherd’s Glen to investigate the sudden disappearance of his brother. From
