Playstation 3 gamers (or Blu-ray watchers) concerned about their PS3 overheating can look to the first external fan add-on for the PS3. Coming from the same company that brought the Xbox 360 Intercooler is Nyko's PS3 Intercooler.

About the PS3 Intercooler: "Reduce the internal operating temperature of the PS3 while prolonging the consoles lifespan. The PS3 Intercooler is a snap on cooling attachment that easily connects to the system to significantly reduce the internal heat of the console. The PS3 Intercooler provides increased air flow throughout the system which allows the internal circuitry to perform at cooler temperatures and last longer. No internal modification of the system is required. A pass through power connection utilizes the existing PS3 power supply negating the need for an extra AC adaptor. The unit also powers on and off automatically with system and the intercoolers small size will fit in tight spaces like entertainment centers with your sysem displayed in either horizontal or vertical format."

Gamestop has listed the PS3 Intercooler fan for sale for $24.99.

According to a Microsoft spokesperson in an interview with 1up.com, Tim and Chris Stamper have officially left Rare Ltd., the game company that they had a hand in founding in 1982. Though sluggish sales of Viva Pinata would seem to have had an impact in their decision, a Microsoft Representative told 1up

"Chris and Tim have helped shape Rare into the world-renowned development studio that is it today and their impact on the videogame industry as a whole is well known. They are simply leaving to pursue other opportunities and we wish them luck in their future endeavors."

The brothers will be succeeded by Mark Betteridge and Gregg Mayles.

Recently, videos of Halo 3 alpha stage gameplay were leaked onto the internet. The video, which was apparently taken at an event set up in order to give U.S. servicemen an early look, has now been posted on Youtube. Though the video is slightly grainy, it is easy to confirm that this is indeed Halo 3 judging from the gameplay, and from the title screen shown. Also, notice how smooth the framerate is even for a mid-development build.

As Gears of War fans, you are all probably disappointed by the lack of GOW action figures around. While a treatment by Todd McFarlane for example would be awesome, one gamer decided to take matters into his own hands. Emilio J. Lopez crafted his very own Marcus Fenix figure by using a Munny figure kit available at the KidRobot site. Pictures of Lopez' "interesting-in-an-eviscerating sort-of-way" figure can be seen at his webpage.

Rumors are circulating on the web that Konami's Coded Arms: Assault may be cancelled. The PS3 title is based somewhat on the Sony PSP game, Coded Arms (which received poor reviews for repetitive gameplay and difficult PSP controls). No official word from Konami as of yet.

A September 2006 preview from Joystiq reported that the game wasn't looking too hot at the time (slow load times, poor graphic quality). At E3 2006 in May, there was a lone Konami kiosk displaying a preview trailer below.
