Coming to the Sony PSP handheld, the SEGA Genesis Collection is a compilation of classic Genesis games.
From SEGA: "Developed by Backbone Entertainment, SEGA Genesis Collection features over 30 titles including, Altered Beast™, Sonic The Hedgehog™, Shinobi III™, Phantasy Star™, and the original SEGA Genesis version of Golden Axe™. The games in the collection have been reproduced with the utmost accuracy to the originals as possible. SEGA Genesis Collection also features numerous unlockable items that delve into the soul of the Genesis including interviews with the original developers that created the games featured in the collection, a museum area with interesting facts about the games, a hint area to help gamers complete their favorite SEGA Genesis games, and SEGA arcade games from the Genesis era. SEGA Genesis Collection for the PSP system marks the hand held debut of numerous titles in the collection. The PSP system's wireless function will for the first time ever, allow Genesis fans to connect with friends for a wireless multiplayer gaming experience."
The compilation is scheduled for release this Fall.
Watch the Ulltimate Ghosts 'n Goblins Trailer from Japan below. The side-scrolling classic, enhanced on the Sony PSP, is scheduled for release in the US on September 5, 2006. Ultimate Ghost 'n Goblins is being released by Capcom and is directed by the original's creator Tokurou Fujiwara.
Online game retailer GameStop.com lists a compilation of games being released for the Sony PSP by Electronic Arts (EA). The games are from the 1990-1995 era of gaming consoles such as the Super Nintendo (SNES) and Sega Genesis (with a couple from Atari's Jaguar and the 3DO). Here are the games listed:

Microsoft brings the "XNA Game Studio Express" to help aspiring game designers develop Xbox 360 games.

The game classic, Lode Runner, has been announced by Hudson Entertainment for the Nintendo DS in Japan.
From Hudson: "Lode Runner will feature the classic NES Lode Runner game (where Bomberman is the enemy!) and the newer Championship version! There's also different modes of play like "Arranged" and "Pop Style" for your gaming tastes. There's even a game sharing feature! So, nostalgic and new fans: we've got you covered! Nintendo and Buzznet.com announce a Super Mario Bros. "Show Your Love" contest. Snap a picture and write a caption. The top five submissions will each win two Nintendo DS Lite systems and two copies of New Super Mario Bros. (although if you are a big fan, you probably have 'em!).

Nwizard.com has compiled a list of 27 Wii Launch Day titles. In comparison to other next-gen console launches, the Xbox 360 launched with 18 games and the PS3 currently has about 15 games for the November 17 launch. Check out the suspected list of 27 Wii launch games here.

With the conclusion of Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays, we hosted a Pac-Man/80's party this past weekend. Thanks to the Xbox Community/Microsoft for the "Party-in-a-box." Microsoft has not officially announced the next wave of Xbox Live Arcade titles, so the list going around the 'net may be inaccurate. Check out pictures of the party here. Back to school, kids!
Nintendo announced today that its Nintendo DS game Brain Age has sold more than 4 million cartridges globally.
From Nintendo: "Selling more than 4 million units worldwide, including 600,000 in the Americas, 3 million in Japan and 500,000 in Europe, the top-selling title redefines how millions of people now think about video gaming."
