Cubed3 reports that Nintendo will not open it Wi-Fi Connection Libraries to Third-Party game developers until early 2007. What does this mean to us, itchy FPS fraggin' gamers? Games such as Call of Duty 3, by Activision, will not be online enabled on the Wii.
From a representative of Activision to GoNintendo: "We wanted to clear up that the Wii version will not have online multiplayer, but is being developed to take advantage of the unique controls and provide an amazing single player interactive experience.”
So while the Wii may not be ready from prime-time online multiplayer, look for a twist on the interactive gaming experience for cross platform titles released on the Wii console. Would this make you want to buy two versions of Call of Duty 3 (one for the Wii and one for your Xbox 360/PC/PS3)?

LucasArts has launched its Lego Star Wars II web site. Check out screenshots, movie clips, a downloadable PC demo and even build your own Lego Star Wars character online. The "Character Builder" lets you select a head, torso, legs and background, which will automatically generate a story and name for your character and send your creation (or abomination) to a friend.
A demo of the game has been circulating for consoles on magazine demo discs. For the Sony PS2 (in issue 108 of the Sony OPM magazine) and for the Xbox (in issue 62 of OXM). LucasArts are also preparing a demo with Microsoft for release on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live.
Check out the official Lego Star Wars II web site here.
See this page for pricing of Lego Star Wars II on each platform.

Looks like Lumines Live tries to get sneaky on slipping you a couple of MS Point charges. After rumors a while back that there would be a charge for multiplayer (which proved to be false later), there are extra fees when you advance far enough into the single player "Mission Mode" and "VS CPU" mode.
From a review in OXM (rating Lumines Live 8.5):
"You'll be prompted to buy the Puzzle/Mission Pack (400 MS Points extra)" once you start "getting on a roll with Mission Mode".
Also, in the VS CPU mode, when you are "knee-deep" in the VS CPU mode, "you'll be blocked by signage declaring: 'You need the VS CPU Pack (300 Points)."
So on top of the $15 (1200 MS Points) for the charge of Lumines Live game on Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA), it will cost 700 extra MS points when you advance in the game. Sounds like the first negative penatly for doing good in a game to me. Maybe it would not have been so bad if they would have released levels seperately instead of impeding gameplay? Are you more likely to buy the additional levels this way? Or is this Microsoft slipping in a few hidden fees?
