The first downloadable content pack from Xbox LIve will be available on April 17, 2006 (Monday) for Project Gotham Racing 3. Here are the details of what will be available:
Free downloads:
Access to Tournaments (some tournaments require Xbox Live Gold membership)
One free car.
New feature enhancements and fixes:
Quit to lobby functionality for host (in playtime)
- Lock to host car, Lock to host car class (in playtime lobby)
- Previously played routes with save functionality for custom routes on Xbox Live
- Show postion of players option in Online races (playtime/online career)
- Hide H.U.D option
- Manual gears possible in Race Against The Clock
- Show who's speaking in online races
- Steering wheel support
- Resolved a couple of exploits people have found online and made the "Online Professional" badge easier to achieve.

Do you play games or do they play you? According to a report and study on ABC Online (Australia), playing video games makes you paranoid and suspicious. The study "shows young men are more likely to think it is acceptable to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol after playing a violent game." What do you think? Yeah, talking to YOU. The Burnout Revenge Retail Car Downloads were ridden with bugs. EA had a pretty good idea in concept. To distribute exclusive retail cars at Best Buy, Circuit City and Gamestop Xbox 360 kiosks. If you stopped by a store with a Xbox 360 Memory Card, you could plug it in a kiosk to download and later play with the custom car. That's if: #1 the Xbox 360 kiosk worked, #2 if the retail store received/installed the Burnout Revenge update in the kiosk, #3 if there was ever any clear explanation to how the whole thing worked and #4 if when you finally found one, Burnout Revenge recognized it and let you use it. You were lucky to get to part #3, it was impossible to get to #4. Today a patch was released that enabled the cars you downloaded from the kiosk. After installing the update, you will get a message that a new car has been unlocked. The car can then be selected from a multiplayer game. We'll let you know if we see the promotion hitting stores again!

Just don't take away my 360!
Lucent is trying to pull the plug on our gaming and I don’t like it. Well Lucent claims to have the patent on an MPEG2 component that is being used in the Xbox 360. Lucent was nearly dead a few years ago, back when the bubbles were popping, they seem to be trying to get a little press on this MPEG2 case.

Kotaku.com reports that a leaked docment from a marketing research company reveals Burger King is considering packing an Xbox/Xbox 360 game in your value meal. The games would cost $4 a pop. See the conceptual images and document at Kotaku

Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has reached record sales numbers of 1.7 million units (Xbox 360 and PC) shipped since its launch. On the Xbox 360, its become the fastest selling game in the U.S., while on the PC, The NPD Group Inc reports Oblivion PC as the best selling PC game. The Collector's Edition follows right behind, ranked number 2. Gamerankings.com tallies a 94.5% ranking (based on 38 reviews) for the Xbox 360 version and 94% ranking (based on 25 reviews) for the PC. This is one sandbox RPG you don't want to miss! (I'm hooked). Sales for the Xbox 360 have jumped up in the past week approximately 2,500 units. The Xbox 360's weak sales sparked a "re-launch" event in Japan from Microsoft. Its also thought that the debut of Rumble Roses Double X, a female wrestling game with some risqué moves, helped drive some of that momentum.

Its looking like The Nintendo DS Lite will be available in the United States in May 2006. The new DS model is said to be released at the same time of the New Super Mario DS game, which puts it at mid-May 2006. With everyone anticipating the pre-orders of the PS3 and Revolution, seems like the DS Lite was lost in the mix. Anyone heard on any pre-orders for the DS Lite? No official announcement has been made on the release date or price in the US. The first place a DS Lite has appeared in relation to Nintendo USA has been on the recently announced Download Station Locator. Notice the graphic on the top banner of the page is a White DS Lite. You can currently buy the DS Lite as an import from Japan for $199 from Lik Sang.
