The official page for Bomberman Act Zero (Japan) has gone live. The game is slated to come to the Xbox 360 in Japan. No official U.S. announcement has been made. Check out the screen shots and video (bottom of the page) to see the cutesy cartoon character gone hardcore. Reminds me of the move Al Jourgenson, Ministry frontman, made from soft synth music to hardcore thrashing. More from Hudson Japan here.

Publishers Love FPSes E-mail

A report by a financial group (Susquehanna Financial Group) says that First Person Shooters are currently the most attractive game type for game publishers. Crime games are on decline in the gaming world, racing games are solid but no breakthroughs and sports are too costly (due to licensing). This does not speak for the gaming universe as a whole, as FPS are not the most popular in Japan, supposedly due to the motion sickness it can induce (this has also been one subject of the slower sales of the Xbox 360 in Japan, which has a heavy FPS game base). Read more from GameDaily here.

What does Black have in common with The Godfather besides guns and an itchy trigger finger? Electronic Arts will be releasing Black (Xbox/PS2) and The Godfather (Xbox/PS2) at a $39.99 MSRP instead of the industry standard $49.99 MSRP for current generation consoles. The move widens the gap between next gen games (which debut at $59.99) and current gen games at a $20 difference. We'll see how this push affects current gen games sales soon!
