Xbox Friend Requests Online E-mail
Xbox 360 News Bits

Tuesday, 28 March 2006
"Friend Requests" could previously only be managed by the Xbox console's interface (Xbox Live Dashboard). Today, Major Nelson announced that you can request, accept or turn away that potential gamer via "My Xbox" on Xbox.com. This makes it easier to add (or reject!) gamers to your friends list via the internet. The feature also makes it easier for gamers trying out the "Free Xbox Live Weekend" to add selected Xbox Ambassadors to their friends list.Read more from majornelson.com here.

The exclusive PSP magazine market has been limited by a few special feature mags and two new regular UK PSP mags ("Pure PSP" and "Go Play"). "Official PSP Guidebook" is a new bi-monthly PSP magazine by UK's Future Publications debuting in the end of April 2006 (that would be May for U.S.). This would be the first magazine for the PSP to pack a UMD disc that can be loaded on your PSP. From Media Week (UK): "Unlike existing titles, the magazine will offer playable demos of new games on a covermounted UMD disc."

In honor of MAVAV (Mothers Against Videogame Addiction and Violence), Gaming Bits is conducting a survey to better serve the mother’s study to help rid the world of gamers that hit “rock-bottom”. We would rather see healthy gamers than gamers begging for money on the street.

We want to know what your CRACK is. A few years back the most popular was EverCrack (EverQuest). I think it is time we take a second look and hopefully save a fellow gamer. We are not trying to pull a Schwarzenegger here but rather bring awareness to gamers. So you the gamer can check yourself before you wreck yourself.

As mysterious as a new moon, the follow-up to one of 2005's best DS titles is a whip-smart adventure that you won't want to miss." Xbox 360 News Bits
Written by Rivithed
Sunday, 26 March 2006
Looks like the wait was worth it. The RPG that wouldn't make the Xbox 360 launch has made top rankings, pulling near perfect scores from various magazines and gaming review sites. Load times and occasionally jumpiness during exploration is the only minor setback, which won't keep you from pushing onward.

Here's a summary of reviews from Gamerankings.com, placing Oblivion's rating at 95%:
GameSpot: 9.6 out of 10
IGN: 9.3 out of 10
Official Xbox Magazine: 9.5 out of 10
GamePro: 4.5 out of 5
Eurogamer: 10 out of 10
Yahoo! Games: 5 out of 5
Games Radar: 10 out of 10
TeamXBOX: 9.5 out of 10
UGO: A
GameDaily: 4.5 out of 5

In the vast world of Tamriel, Oblivion encourages exploration across its rich landscape, highly customized character classes and open quests. Read more about the game at Xbox.com here.

More rumors are surfacing on the renaming of the Nintendo Revolution that didn't happen at last week's Game Developer Conference. Besides an image of a slide showing "Nintendo Go", a supposed product brochure cover has surfaced. Rumors of The Revolution being renamed were running about last week, which were never mentioned at Nintendo's GDC Keynote. Surely more will be revealed at this year's E3 Expo in May, where the first playable "Revolution" will be appearing. Read more from Engadget here.

Metal Gear Ac!d & "Kojima Chicks" E-mail
Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) News Bits
Written by Rivithed

The Kojima Chicks are packing some heat in Metal Gear Ac!d 2's Solid Eye Theatre. The Sony PSP game uses the previously reported Solid Eye attachment to view game play and cutscreen footage in 3d. As a bonus, there is a "Solid Eye Theatre" that lets you view various movies that are unlocked when you find certain cards. Some bonus footage shows Japanese women oogling guns, posing in camo coochie cutters and pointing at you in 3d (whom we are now calling the "Kojima Chicks", named after Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima). See pics of The Kojima Chicks here and a little "simulated" 3d graphic that shows how the Solid Eye works. Try doing this with your PSP Solid Eye in public and besides look like a perv in a peep show, you're sure to get curious bystanders.
