SEGA and Platinum Games have a nice behind-the-scenes video of Bayonetta for you to see in "Bayonetta Revelations: Chapter 1." See the origin of Bayonetta with an introduction from Hideki Kamiya, Bayonetta's director, and Yusuke Hashimoto, the game's producer. Bayonetta is based on Evil vs. Good, an interesting twist to the typical hero perspective we usually get in games. You play the role of the witch, Bayonetta, as you battle against angels. Take a few minutes, sit back, and watch the Bayonetta Developer Diary 1 after the age verification below.
Please enter your date of birth below to see video:
Bayonetta is causing quite a stir, achieving a perfect 40/40 rating score from Japan's Famitsu and the Platinum Games team has even posted pictures via Twitter of the game selling out in stores in Japan. Watch for the demo of Bayonetta to hit the PlayStation Network soon (or get it now from the Japanese PSN)!
Details on Bayonetta from SEGA:
"Bayonetta is a cinematic, stylized action game from the famed creative mind of renowned game developer, Hideki Kamiya. The game’s protagonist is a graceful, gun-wielding witch with powers beyond the comprehension of mere mortals. Facing off against countless fantastic enemies in stylish yet action-packed combat, Bayonetta uses outlandish finishing moves to take the action genre to a new level of excellence.
After being entombed in a coffin sunk in the bottom of the lake, Bayonetta awakens from a 500 year slumber with no memory of anything but her witchcraft. What little memory she has points her towards Vigrid, a remote region in Europe. As players embark on this quest with Bayonetta, they will begin to unfold the mystery behind her past and her purpose in the game and why she fights against angels."
For more information on Bayonetta, visit the official website here. Bayonetta will be available in North America on January 5th and in Europe on January 8th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms from SEGA.

The latest game to garner a lot of buzz for the Wii is Disney Interactive Studios' Disney Epic Mickey. In Disney Epic Mickey, Mickey is thrust into a world known as the Cartoon Wasteland, by villain Yen Sid. This happens when Mickey stumbles upon a map which leads him into the world. The Cartoon Wasteland is inhabited by all the forgotten characters of Disney's past, most notably lead by Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Oswald tries to make a comfortable world for himself and other forgotten characters of Disney lore who are left to dwell with him. As Mickey's popularity rises within the Disney universe, life in the Cartoon Wasteland becomes more devastating to live in. It isn't until Mickey discovers this world that he sees the destruction he's unknowingly created.
See the first colorful screenshots, artwork and the team behind Disney Epic Mickey here (or in a higher resolution gallery here).
Director and luminary game designer Will Spector says this game is one of "choice and consequence." He also states it will ultimately define both the player and character within Disney Epic Mickey. Players of Disney Epic Mickey will be given moral choices, alongside character class choices, choosing to play as a Hero or a Scrapper. You will use paint and paint thinner as your weapons to craft decisions which ripple throughout the realm of the Cartoon Wasteland. Ultimately, you will be given the discretion of assisting and saving these forgotten Disney characters, or leaving them behind.
Disney Epic Mickey's main plot, ironically, blurs the line between gaming fantasy and our actual world. For gamers unaware, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was originally the first character created by Walt Disney and his team. He appeared in various silent cartoons in the late 1920's and was slated to be Disney's first animated star. Due to production costs, the team were unable to retain his rights, and years later Disney's new team created Mickey Mouse. So it is pretty cool to see this blend of actual Disney animation history tied into this game.
The premise behind the new Mickey game was put together by Disney Interactive Studios' Think Tank which sought to make a game of Mickey in turmoil. Will Spector was then brought in to flesh out this idea, and this is where the whole idea of choice came into play. Epic Mickey is being developed by Junction Point.
Will you make the mischievous Mickey Mouse a selfish being only seeking his path or help out the other characters and making them think different of you? You will be able to push forth these actions in Fall 2010 only on the Wii gaming platform. Pre-order Disney Epic Mickey here.
Visit the official website of Disney Epic Mickey at disney.com/disneyepicmickey.

Nintendo Japan has just introduced another evolution of the Nintendo DS handheld, a new Nintendo DSi system called the Nintendo DSi LL. The notable difference is the 1" bigger screens, bumping up the two 3.25" screens of the DSi to two 4.2" screens on the DSi LL. The Nintendo DSi LL has been announced for a November 21, 2009 release in Japan at 20,000 yen (about $220).
You can see Nintendo Japan's official mini-site on the DSi LL here. Although it is all in Japanese, there are more images and comparison shots of the DSi LL versus the DSi and DS Lite. You can get a good sense of the dimensions, and a new larger sized stylus as well. The DSi LL will be available in Wine Red, Dark Brown and Natural White colors.
No announcement for other regions outside of Japan has been made by Nintendo just yet. With Nintendo's DS and DSi game hardware being the top selling video game hardware, it's ony a matter of when it arrives in North America.

According to an article from GameInformer.com, the District 9 Blu-ray movie will include a playable demo of God of War III. The District 9 Blu-ray won't be released until December 29, 2009, so it's a bit of a longer wait for the God of War III demo than when the demo on the God of War Collection will be released. What's different from the God of War Collection's included demo is that the District 9 Blu-ray will include the God of War III demo on the disc itself, rather than having to download it. GameInformer.com also noted that a behind-the-scenes of the making of God of War 3 will also be viewable, once you complete the demo.
Of course, the hardcore fans will go for the God of War III demo download, using the redemption code included with the God of War Collection. Sony Computer Entertainment America announced that the God of War Collection, including higher definition PlayStation 3 versions of God of War and God of War II, will be available on November 17th. SCEA unveiled the Trophy list for the God of War Collection just yesterday, which you can see here. The God of War Collection is available for pre-order for $36.99 here at Amazon.com.
UPDATE: The US PlayStation Blog has more information on the District 9 and God of War III demo here.

Undead Attack! Pinball
Developer: Lucas Mendes Menge
Platform: iPhone and iPod touch
App Store Price: $2.99
Official website: attackpinball.com
Review Summary:
If you're looking for a unique spin on pinball gaming, Undead Attack! Pinball is a refreshing change. It's a nice two-in-one combo of pinball and fighting off zombies, or what the developer calls "gate defense." There is a mix of different iPhone/iPod touch control mechanics as you fight off waves of zombies across three different pinball tables. What keeps the overall game back is the repetitive nature of the gameplay, which you feel after a few waves of fighting the steady stream of the undead. Overall, it's a great looking game that is easy to pickup and play.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5
