The Pie Baker of Bakersburg sent in a warning during Halloween that a pie has gone missing. Not just any pie, but a Chronoberry Pie. The pie has a time-bending effect, and it looks like that spells chaos when a character by the name of Mr. P.B. Winterbottom, a pie enthusiast, gets his hands on it.
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is a new game in development, to be published by 2K Games. It's an upcoming release for the Xbox 360's Xbox LIVE Arcade. You get to control the antics of Mr. P.B. Winterbottom in this very unique looking game with some time travel gone awry. In The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, you will "cooperate, compete against, and disrupt your past, present, and future selves." The visual style, inspired by old black & white silent movies, is looking great, as you'll see from the new screenshots 2K Games sent in.
See some new screenshots and artwork from The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom here.
Here are more details on the game, from 2K Games:
"Mr. P.B. Winterbottom is a villainous gentleman with a predilection for pies. Swiping the mysterious Chronoberry Pie changed everything for our beloved Winterbottom, one bite made him more than an ordinary pie-grabbing humbug. That first taste changed him into something quite extraordinary, granting him the ability to break the rules of time. With these newfound time recording tricks up his cufflink, and with the help of his time clones, Winterbottom can now snatch pies with the greatest of ease. But on his journey to devour every pie, Winterbottom must mind the signs and the perils of being unstuck in time."
You can see some earlier concept work of The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, which shows the idea of the gameplay, in this video here. 2K Games will be publishing the game under it's 2K Play label for Xbox LIVE Arcade. Visit the official website of at www.winterbottomgame.com to learn more about the origins of the game. Watch for more details on The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom soon!
