Looks like Lumines Live tries to get sneaky on slipping you a couple of MS Point charges. After rumors a while back that there would be a charge for multiplayer (which proved to be false later), there are extra fees when you advance far enough into the single player "Mission Mode" and "VS CPU" mode.
From a review in OXM (rating Lumines Live 8.5): Also, in the VS CPU mode, when you are "knee-deep" in the VS CPU mode, "you'll be blocked by signage declaring: 'You need the VS CPU Pack (300 Points)." So on top of the $15 (1200 MS Points) for the charge of Lumines Live game on Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA), it will cost 700 extra MS points when you advance in the game. Sounds like the first negative penatly for doing good in a game to me. Maybe it would not have been so bad if they would have released levels seperately instead of impeding gameplay? Are you more likely to buy the additional levels this way? Or is this Microsoft slipping in a few hidden fees?
