On Saturday, September 9th, teenagers, college students and very bored adults weren't the only people handing out free samples of pwnage. According to AllHeadlineNews.com, Barbara St. Hilaire, also known as Old Grandma Hardcore, was declared winner of Nintendo World's honorary event "Grandparents Day." The day, spent in the Nintendo World store in Rockefeller Center, revolved around older gamers playing each other at "Brain Age: Train your brain in just minutes a day" for the Nintendo DS.

St. Hilaire, a grandmother of 13 who's been a gamer since the 70's, won two DS lites and 10 games to play on her brand new handhelds. She has even gained notoriety because of her gaming skills, and has her own blog. The game played at the competition (Brain Age) focuses on puzzle like objectives such as memorization, problem-solving and reflexes. The game is actually quite popular, especially so among the older age group of gamers. I personally commend St. Hilaire on her gaming skills and hope to hear about her pwning n00bs for years to come.
