Activision's CEO confirmed that its PS3 games will have a price tag of $60, partially due to the successful sales of its Xbox 360 game, Call Of Duty 2, at $60 and its PSP games at $49.99.
From an article at Gamespot: "Kotick indicated that the company is taking a next-gen pricing approach to its next-gen software, thanks in part to its success with pricing PlayStation Portable games at $50 and Xbox 360 software, like the best-selling Call of Duty 2, at $60." The development of its upcoming next-gen Spiderman 3 game has cost the company nearly 35 million dollars. The article does note that the $60 price point may not apply to Wii games.
