Nintendo's Wii Production at Two Million With 7 to 9 Million By End of Q4, 2006 PDF Print E-mail

Sounds like Nintendo's Wii launch should meet the much anticipated demand and won't be suffering the shortages Microsoft experienced on its Xbox 360 launch.

An article at International Business Times says: "[Nintendo] built 2 million of its Wii consoles in the third quarter according to UBS's semiconductor analyst Alex Guana. In a note to clients on Thursday, Guana also stated that 7 to 9 million are expected to be built in the fourth quarter of 2006, putting the firm ahead of its 6 million unit production goal."

Not much word of pre-orders since the Amazon.com and Nintendo World Store pre-orders ceased several weeks ago, but with this kind of supply, would there really need to be?

All I know is that my 360 is collecting dust right now. I can't wait to get my hands on the Wii. To be honest I really don't think that the graphics are not that much behind the 360. Looks like Nintendo will be the king once again.

There are certain FYE storess that are "secretly" taking preorders for the wii. I was number 4 on the list at my local FYE. So go and check out a store near you and see if they will take preorders. I dont know about the games they have scheduled for their store and I know they are not taking preorders for the wii's accessories. :(

Holding back on preorders will just create more anticipation for the Wii. Let's just hope that Nintendo has enough to go around. It will be one of the hottest items for christmas this year. Nintendo has a chance to get a big jump on the competition.

yeah every1 loves the consoles its like something everyone's waiting for they look at it as an expection of sorts coming from all angles but i tell you this the handheld market has sold way more units then the total of console units look at the gameboy it holds the record for most sold units at the 150 million mark and people are still buying because of its popularity back then!

DS did like 4-5 mill in a few months after its launch? I think a console has much much more demand than a handheld...
