There's been word circling of a deadly Dead or Alive 4 glitch that wipes your saves. Frustrating if you have unlocked that spanky new Halo Spartan 458 character. This appears to happen to a few random discs (hasn't happened to me). To avoid this happening to you, make sure to follow these precautionary steps: Tecmo technical support says to do the following: (1) With your copy of DOA4 already inserted, turn on your 360 by pressing the "open tray" button. (2) Wait until all the information from your Gamer Profile is fully displayed on your Gamer Card, including achievements and other awards. (3) Close the tray again with DOA4 still inserted. If problems still occur, call Tecmo technical support at (310) 944-5005 (8 a.m.-6 p.m. PST) or e-mail them at As a general rule of thumb (and trigger finger), seeing how something similar has happened to Call of Duty 2 (see our past story here), always boot up your Xbox 360 and have your gamer profile loaded before you launch your insert and launch your game. I'm paranoid enough that I think its time to buy an external memory card for backup!
