With the Sony's PS3 trying to hit the one million unit mark, and the Xbox 360 likely to hit the 10 million unit mark soon, title exclusivity on the PS3 may not be sounding like a profitable thing. Publishers such as Ubisoft (Assassin's Creed) and Koei (Fatal Intertia) have already announced their former PS3 exclusives to also be headed to the Xbox 360. One of the higher profile, or THE most anticipated, of the PS3 exclusives continues to receive rumors of release on the Xbox 360.
A report on Joystiq.com says that the current PS3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4 is rumored to "be coming to the Xbox 360 shortly after the PS3 release." No doubt, contractual agreements may be keeping Konami tight-lipped on the status, so don't expect to hear any official word just yet. With an opportunity to reach an audience of about 9 million more gamers, it may be more likely to happen. The rumor continues to be just that, as Konami responded that it "has no plans to bring Metal Gear Solid 4 to the Xbox 360 at this time." No official release date for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on the PS3 has been announced, but expect sometime in 2007.
