According to a Microsoft spokesperson in an interview with 1up.com, Tim and Chris Stamper have officially left Rare Ltd., the game company that they had a hand in founding in 1982. Though sluggish sales of Viva Pinata would seem to have had an impact in their decision, a Microsoft Representative told 1up "Chris and Tim have helped shape Rare into the world-renowned development studio that is it today and their impact on the videogame industry as a whole is well known. They are simply leaving to pursue other opportunities and we wish them luck in their future endeavors." The brothers will be succeeded by Mark Betteridge and Gregg Mayles.
