Playstation 3 System Update 1.5 Now Available PDF Print E-mail

Login with your PS3 online and you'll be greeted to a message letting you know a system update is now available. System Update 1.5 addresses the backwards compatible graphics issues on PSone and PS2 games. Custom User ID pics are now supported as well by pointing to an image file on your PS3 (or transferred from a memory stick). In addition to fixing the graphic issues, the following updates were done:

- User can now set an image/photo (off a mem stick etc) for their user id
- Edy support added (for payment via card reader)
- 'operation sound' added to sound settings
- 'delete backup data' added to backup utilities subsetting
- WEP128, WPA-PSK (TKIP), WPA-PSK(AES) can now utilize AOSS
- Can now remember your login password without using automatic login
- Korean keyboard setting can be used

As Playstation gamers know from experience on PSP Software Updates, the official system software updates page at the US Playstation site was not updated at the time of the release of the system update, so you'll have to check that link later for the details from Sony.
