Virtual Goods Ban Applies To All, Except Second Life PDF Print E-mail

eBay is pulling the plug on virtual good sales, as its new policy states "The seller must be the owner of the underlying intellectual property, or authorized to distribute it by the intellectual property owner."

While the poilcy kills transactions within the realms such as Worlds of Warcraft, Everquest and Diablo II, there's one "game" that gets an exemption from the policy. eBay spokesman Hani Durzy told CNET's News.com "We think there is an open question about whether Second Life should be regarded as a game." Second Life players will be allowed to continue sales of their virtual, or parallel world, goods. Good thing there are no gnomes in Second Life.
