Xbox 360 Now Shipping With A Quieter Drive, aka "BenQ VAD6038" |

That whooshing sound from your Xbox 360 disc drive spinning is a thing of the past. So says "GaryOPA" from a post at Xbox-Scene.com. Xbox 360 consoles with a manufacture date of November 2006 on forward are equipped with a "BenQ VAD6038" drive, based on Philips design.
From Xbox-Scene :"According to XBOXIZGOOD, who already got an Xbox360 with this new drive, the BenQ VAD6038 runs super-quiet compared to the TS and HLG drives and even loads stuff a bit faster and smoother."
We couldn't verify this, as we've had 360s since the 2005 launch year (and had them replaced a couple times with 2005 models, thanks to the visits from the Red Ring of Death). If any of you with a Xbox 360 notice it's significantly quieter than your friend's old 360, let us know!

Both systems are not made 100% defective free. Pretty soon you might see a Slim PS3 because the PS3 was just to darn huge and a built-in HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360 because the add-on was not popular. To be honest who cares, I think both systems are g | yeah

that's why sony won't even offer an extended manufacture's warranty... Because Sony has been choking lately and they know that the PS3 will have problems then all of the sony fanboys will buy another one just like the surge in ps2 sales that sony got | not so fast

A better system? how about over priced. Walmart, ebgames, bestbuy, all have plenty of ps3 stock b/c no one wants it. its big, bulky and no one understands it. props to microsoft for always lookin for ways to improve. | another basher wow....

this proves how crappy the 360 is. Not only have they not fixed the glitches with GOW and other games, there coming out with another DVD drive. Im sure this is another crappy drive and also what about the people who prevously bought this. At least , s |
