Sony held a launch party at the Metreon on midnight for the release of God of War II. With God of War II's official release today, shipping one million units of the game, came even more God of War announcements on what is to come. Details follow on a God of War for the PSP and the release of God of War III on the PS3, with rumble!
The PSP God of War game will not just be a port, but a prequel on what is to come in God of War III. Cory Barlog, game director of God of War 2 told Gamespot: "We're not gonna do a port. This isn't gonna be God of War I on the PSP, this is gonna be an all new adventure that ties into the overarching story. So if we go on to make a God of War III, the PSP [version] will tie directly into what we're doing in the overall story. ... My big strategy for this entire franchise is that there's never going to be some solo, separated thing. Everything's going to deal with the overall plot." Ready at Dawn will be developing the PSP release of God of War. Word of God of War III on the PS3 with rumble comes from Cory Barlog at the event, as reported by GWN. "While details are still unfolding at the event, so far Cory Barlog of developer Ready At Dawn has revealed that the next God of War game will be on the PS3. He also said that it will feature 1080p high definition graphics, and will also feature SIXAXIS and vibration support. " See more coverage of the God of War 2 launch event, with pictures at 1up.com.
