More sources point to the yet unconfirmed Xbox 360 Elite. Here's a roundup of some of the latest developments of the rumored Xbox 360 Elite (Black/Zephyr).

Xbox-Scene posted a snapshot of a forum posting on the official XNA Game Studio Express forums, in which a Microsoft XNA Framework Developer inadvertently confirms the Xbox 360 Elite:

From the posting: "Will the HDMI output on the revised 360 require any code changes. I am hoping some developers have a beta unit and can answer this question." He answered: "No changes required."

An article by Dean Takahashi, author of The Xbox 360 Uncloaked and reporter at the San Jose Mercury News, says "It’s true that Microsoft is preparing to announce the Xbox 360 Elite, a version of the game console with black plastic and advanced features." Dean cites IPTV, a 65 nanometer chip redesign and downloadable HD movies as evidence that an updated Xbox 360 is on the way. As Dean states: "The details will be announced soon enough."

This morning, Xbox 360 Fanboy has posted a cellphone snapshot supposedly taken at a GameStop, of a store advert showing a 120GB Hardrive. That's right, "hardrive." The picture shows a typo under the caption of a Xbox 360 hard drive: "120 GB Hardrive Coming Soon."

Finally, a posting on Evil Avatar quotes The Sydney Morning Herald, saying "Microsoft Australia will on Wednesday make a "major announcement" to coincide with the first birthday of the Xbox 360." The article goes on to state: "US media are being briefed by Microsoft on Tuesday. The subject of the briefing is unclear, but Engadget editor Ryan Block said he was "fairly sure" it would be the Elite."

We'll keep you updated on any new Xbox 360 Elite developments, but from the sounds of these latest developments, we might be on the verge of an official Microsoft announcement. Could the downtime tomorrow on Xbox 360's Live and xbox.com have something to do with this?

UPDATE: Pictures of the Xbox 360 Elite in a production line in China have surfaced! Check them out here.
