Details on Guitar Hero III are starting to unwrap. In regards to the Guitar Hero 3 Wii release, you won't be playing air guitar on this one. The Wii will be getting a guitar controller, as confirmed by IGN in an interview with RedOctane's co-founder and president Kai Huang.
On multiplayer, Guitar Hero 3 will be the first to feature online multiplayer jam sessions. This posting on Pro-G confirms that Guitar Hero 3 will feature online multiplayer, for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Looks like the Xbox 360's Guitar Hero II may not get that rumored online multiplayer update if this is just around the corner in 2007. UPDATE: Looks like all the platforms, including the Xbox 360, will be getting a wireless guitar and peripherals in Guitar Hero III. A Guitar Hero DS (yup, Nintendo DS) game is in the works for early 2008. Read more from 1up.
