Halo 3 in True 1080p at 60fps? PDF Print E-mail

Halo 3 may be getting true 1080p support, according to a report at Playthree.net.

The quoted source: "Microsoft realise that with the history making manpower and resources they have invested into this single product, if it can't be done on Halo 3, then the Xbox 360 can't do it at all. Shane Kim [President of Microsoft Game Studios] wants Halo 3 in 1080p to be proof of the Xbox's power."

The article goes on to point out that the Halo 3 Beta will not be in 1080p and claims Bungie is running "an internal test build of Halo 3 running at true 1080p at 60fps." Elite Xbox 360 gamers should get their HDMI port's worth, right?

No official word yet, but we'll keep you updated on it.

That'd be incredibly sweet. I'd even be happy if they made it TRUE 1080i capable. I can't tell the difference between progressive and interlaced (I know there is one) but I sure as hell can tell the difference between 720 and 1080.

Virtua Tennis is 1080p. I would rather have 720p and 30fps and loads of detail, than 1080p 60fps and loads of textures being drawn items popping in ect
