Manhunt 2 has been delayed from its anticipated July 10 release. Rockstar's next controversial game has been barred from release in the UK and received the Adults Only (AO) Rating from the ESRB. The AO rating means no releasing on Nintendo's and Sony's game consoles and no distribution in major retailers. So its back in Rockstar's hands for review.
"We continue to stand behind this extraordinary game. We believe in freedom of creative expression, as well as responsible marketing, both of which are essential to our business of making great entertainment," said game publisher Take-Two. After watching George A. Romero's Day of the Dead this weekend, picked up from a local Blockbuster store, it got me thinking that gaming distribution and ratings hasn't even matured to the level of 80's movies. A kid can just as readily insert a DVD disc to a player as in a game disc into a gaming console. From Reuters. UPDATE: A couple of game journalists share their opinions on Manhunt 2 after a play test. Read up on the discussion of Manhunt 2 on Newsweek.com in MTV News' Stephen Totilo Vs. Level Up's N'Gai Croal.
