Paint By DS isn't targeted for the everyday gamer. Mercury Games has created the "Zen Series" for the Nintendo DS to give non-gamers the chance to play with the DS in "relaxing, non-violent and non-competitive games." In Paint By DS, the stylus is used to mix oil and water paints to create artwork. There will be several mini games in Paint By DS, "such as puzzles based on the famous artwork included in the game."

Features in Paint By DS:
- Re-create famous works of art using your own artistic style
- Artwork by Van Gogh, Cezanne, Katsushika Hokusai, P.J. Redoute and many others
- Mix oil and watercolour paints with the DS stylus or use coloured pencils
- Your paintings are critiqued when finished
- Paint with relaxing instrumental music in the background
- Contains four recreational mini games to “take a break” from drawing
- Unlock new paintings, papers, colours and other items by completing mini games

There will be two optional limited editions at launch. One will feature a paint set, while the other features a paint book. Paint By DS will launch in Europe on August 24th, (£19.99/€24.99). It is set to arrive in the US in 4th quarter, 2007.

Will there be a way to save your paintings and use the WI-FI to send them to your computer from the new DS Paint program?
