Nintendo announced details for its upcoming Wii Remote and Nunchuk peripheral, the Wii Zapper. The Wii Zapper places the two Wii controllers into a gun-like form. Capcom's Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, SEGA's Ghost Squad and EA's Medal of Honor for Wii were demoed alongside with the Wii Zapper. Medal of Honor was developed specifically with the Wii Zapper in mind.
There's been many Wii gun combination peripherals in the works for the Wii (see here) by third party manufacturers. The MSRP for the third party peripherals ranged from $19.99 to $24.99. The Wii Zapper will retail for $19.99, but will also include a first-party Nintendo Wii game with the Wii Zapper. Specifically what kind of game Nintendo is developing was not revealed. Watch the video segment of the Wii Zapper below from G4TV, where Reggie Fils-Aime introduces it at Nintendo's E3 2007 Press Conference yesterday. The Wii Zapper is scheduled for release sometime this year. See more at Nintendo's Wii Accessories page.
