Rumors are circulating that Sony will have "a number of significant announcements" to make at the Leipzig Games Convention on the Playstation 3. Word comes from mcvuk.com that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) will be announcing "video-on-demand services and Freeview TV features this side of Christmas" for the PS3.
A recent follow-up by GamesIndustry.biz said a Sony representative replied "We do not comment on rumour and speculation."
Some kind of video on demand service is anticipated since Sony recently upgraded the PS3 from 60GB to 80GB. In the announcement of the 80 GB PS3, Jack Tretton, president and CEO of SCEA stated: More to come in late August, from Games Convention 2007 (GC 2007).
