At today's Metal Gear 20th Anniversary party in Japan, it was announced that a Metal Gear Solid Online beta will be starting August 3rd. The closed beta will be open to 3,000 Japanese PS3 gamers only. No word if the MGSO beta will eventually be done in the US. The beta will run a brief period, from August 20th until September 3rd. Metal Gear Solid Online will feature "characters, stages and the same control scheme as found in Metal Gear Solid 4." In addition, MGSO will also have "experience packs in additional environments, game modes and team-based multiplayer."
