Rare's Viva Piņata, released previously on the Xbox 360, is headed to the Nintendo DS. The game title created by the Microsoft owned company was made to attract the younger gamers with a complementary Saturday morning cartoon by 4 Kids Entertainment. Viva Piņata for the DS was announced at Comic-Con 2007, with more information showing up on the pinataisland.info forums.

From a Rare Employee: "It's basically the same game, same principles as the 360 version except it has to take into account the hardware i.e. you haven't got the graphics power of the 360, but you have got the touch screen to do cool things with. I'm not sure if we can say at the moment which pinatas and plants will be in the game.

The DS team have done and amazing job at getting most of the features from the original into the DS version."

Would be cool if you could connect a Nintendo DS to an Xbox 360 to transfer piņatas, similar to Pokémon Battle Revolution, but the odds of that happening with Nintendo and Microsoft may be slim. No release date has been announced yet.
