Beautiful Katamari will be released in about two months for the Xbox 360 from Namco Bandai Games. A playable demo will be available for download for Xbox 360 gamers in Japan on August 22nd. With this being the first online multiplayer experience of the Katamari games on home gaming consoles (local multiplayer "ad hoc" gameplay is currently available on the PSP's Me & My Katamari), fans of Katamari will get to see how they roll-up with the competition.
So you may be wondering about the US demo of Beautiful Katamari. That's available now, but not through the Xbox Live Marketplace. You can find it in issue #74 of the Official Xbox Magazine, now on newsstands. Being labeled as an "exclusive demo," it may not be released on the US Xbox Live Marketplace. Just as the PS2's Katamari games were released at a lower price than the usual new release price tag, Beautiful Katamari is listed for $39.99 on GameStop, $20 less than the $59.99 standard MSRP for a new Xbox 360 game. GameStop lists Beautiful Katamari for a 10/15/07 release date. Japanese gamers who pre-order the game will get the Katamari straps below. No news of a pre-order bonus in the US yet. From QJ
