Thursday Playstation Store Updates For 8/16/07 PDF Print E-mail

A couple of playable demos are now downloadable from the US Playstation Store today. Checkout a demo for the offroad racer, DiRT. How does it stack up to the Xbox 360 version (which is currently available)? Comparisons are likely to come soon! The Xbox 360 release features some realistic physics, so don't expect this PS3 offroader to toss you around like Motorstorm.

Today's new additions to the PS3's Playstation Store online include:

- DiRT playable demo
- NCAA Football 08 playable demo
- Heavenly Sword Anime #2 Video
- Folklore game trailer
- Timeshift game trailer
- Wall-E video trailer
- The Lives of Others trailer
- A couple of new background images

I haven't been swayed to replace my XMB background with a background image yet. Covering up that minimal, sleek subtle animation with a static game image seems wrong. Anyone else feel the same about it?

Well, U.S. Playstation 3 gamers lucked out this week with more content than EU or Japan PS3 gamers. Seems like weekly updates to the Playstation Store vary more by region than the Xbox 360's Live content.

Looks like Sony is looking for some killer backgrounds too. Let's see if their PS3 Wallpaper contest winners can convince me to replace my XMB!

Your not swayed on changing it coz u forget u can easily change it back if u dont like anything and You guys are still stuck on using only game pictures on it, men i go celeb wallpaper sites and use beautiful girls on HD, u should see a HD picture of Vida Guerra on my XMB screen its bad ass, u guys are missing out?

When the hell are they releasing the Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Demo? They really shoould release the demos well before the game so people can try it!!! God i want sooooo baaadly!!!!11

I hear you on the wallpaper, but I've chosen to put one up anyway. I can see the default XMB layout when my friends from other reigons want to use the PS3 ~.o Actually, my problem now is I'd like to have the PS3 rotate images on startup and/or return from game. Pictures get stale after a while, and it's not such a quick thing to choose a quick wallpaper when you have well over 1,000 HD images on the HDD. The XMB is pretty though.
