PC gamers will finally get their hands on a BioShock demo tomorrow. The Cult of Rapture web site, the community site of BioShock by 2K Games, reports that the PC demo will be available at 7 PM EST on Monday (8/20/07) from FilePlanet.
Elizabeth at 2K Games passes on the tip: "IMPORTANT: Please be sure to download the latest drivers from ATI and Nvidia that will be available Monday for best performance with your video cards." A posting from BioShock's Creative Director, Ken Levine, warns gamers to stay away from spoilers online, thanks to a few big mouths that got their hands on the BioShock game from an accidental release at Toys R Us. I had also spotted BioShock for sale on shelves at a Blockbuster store this weekend, so maybe some gamers picked it up there as well. So stay away from BioShock postings at message forums for a few days! Man, I was really annoyed when I went to go pay off my GameStop Collector's Edition this weekend, when I heard an off-duty store employee tell another employee a pretty big spoiler. Argh! As Ken Levine stated: "If you're going to buy the game this week, I highly recommend you stay away from any forums that might have spoilers until you play the game through. Our goal in making the game was to thrill and, often, surprise you. Please don't ruin other people's experience by revealing secrets in unmarked threads, and if you want to enjoy the game to its fullest, stay away from any threads that might ruin the fun for you. With a game like BioShock, it will really make a difference." From The Cult of Rapture
