Today's a big release day for the Wii. Three years after Metroid Prime Echoes' release, the third and final part of the "Prime" series debuts with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Being on the Wii, Metroid Prime 3 will feature a new level of control. The Wii Remote controls Samus' cannon arm and scan visor, while the Wii Nunchuk controls the grapple lasso.
Here's the synposis of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: "The Prime chronicle concludes! Six months have passed since the events on the planet Aether. The Galactic Federation's network computers, the Aurora Units, are suddenly and completely corrupted with a virus. The Federation believes Space Pirates may be behind it and contracts bounty hunters, including Samus, to locate and neutralize the perpetrators. But, as Samus will discover, the corruption of Aurora Unit is just the first victim of a terrible force unleashed upon the galaxy."
Reviews so far seem highly favorable of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: This looks like one of the first Wii games to push the graphics on the Wii console. A reviewer on 1up even went so far to say: "Amazing as it is to say about a Wii game, Corruption contains some of the best visuals in gaming, period." 2007 is rounding out to be the year of the FPS games, with BioShock sweeping it up for the Xbox 360 and more games down the road for 2007 like Halo 3, Unreal Tournament III (PS3) and Call of Duty 4.
