Today, Hudson Soft Co., Ltd. has announced that the TurboGrafx-16's Turbo CD and Super CD games will be coming to the Wii Virtual Console. The new additions will debut in Japan starting October 2007, with other regions to follow soon after. Turbo CD and Super CD games will be priced at 800 Wii Points ($8) each. The Turbo CD games were the first CD games released for a home gaming console, with the enhanced Super CD games following. There are currently at least five games on the Turbo/Super CD platform scheduled to be released in 2007, with at least 10 scheduled for release in 2008.
What does this mean? Some of the best TurboGrafx-16 games can soon be played on the Wii! Hopefully titles such as Y's Book I & II, Dragon Slayer, Lords of Thunder or even the campy It Came From The Desert will be coming. No specific titles have been announced.
