EGM's Gossip Guru, Quarterman, reports that the developers on Nintendo's next-gen system, Revolution, do not notice a considerable step up in graphical power from Nintendo's Gamecube. However....

Knowing Nintendo, they have a good record of pushing innovative interaction. The highlight of The Revolution appears to be an "un-intimidating" controller, in the form of a familiar remote control. On the surface it looks like a plain remote, but it is motion tracking what makes it unique. Nintendo and its developers have pulled off some innovative games on the Nintendo DS, which involve using a stylus and a dual screen. Games such as Kirby's Canvas Curse, Advance Wars DS, Metroid Prime Pinball, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow and Mario Kart DS have pulled of some great game play in this un-traditional format. The DS did not show a tremendous graphical leap over the Gameboy Advance. So if the DS is an indication on how interaction can pull the weight of visual graphics, we should't be so concerned about Nintendo making such a graphical leap in the race Microsoft and Sony are currently in. When it comes down to it, we'll see how the games play and entertain!
