Here's a game we'll be hearing quite a bit about, coming from the mind of Tim Schafer (Psychonauts). Surfacing from the cover of the November 2007 Game Informer mag (below), which was posted on the Double Fine (Schafer's studio) forums, is Brütal Legend.
Promo packages were sent to several game media sites, such as IGN. The package contained, as IGN reported "a portable turntable, a vinyl from "Riggs Records," and a poorly-Xeroxed flyer." Playing the record backward revealed some clues, but ultimately it was the FedEx tracking that helped IGN crack the riddle on where it came from, Vivendi/Sierra Games. Not too many details yet. A "Rock N' Roll Roadshow," an axe wielding metalhead and Jack Black starring in the game as a roadie is what you can pretty much get from the cover of the mag.
There's also a report from GameSpot, which says the game will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3, and that Brütal Legends is about "a rock band roadie who dies and must escape hell to reach rock heaven." Now, we're not sure if they have that confused with Double Fine's online game, Epic Fighter. Stop by the Double Fine site and get some action with the Horny Witch in Epic Fighter, Double FIne's free online game. In the game, "you play the part of a barbaric hero in an epic fantasy world, fighting his way from Rock and Roll Hell to Rock and Roll Heaven." From the Double Fine Forums
