| GameStop Blog Debuts Today (and store number 5,000) |

Just as Starbucks continues sprouting up in every corner, GameStop continues to pop up in neighborhoods. It's 5,000th store has opened in Jackson, California. A report from Gamasutra said store 5,000 has opened up, with GameStop "on track to open between 500 and 550 new stores for 2007." The company publishes Game Informer magazine and has also launched it's daily online blog, starting today.
From the first entry in the GameStop Blog: "...if you count everyone working in our network of stores, our distribution centers and our store-support fortress of solitude, it would add up to more than a million years of combined gaming experience. Just like a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters, surely we'll come up with something brilliant every once in a while." With that, the GameStop Blog promises to deliver daily news, events and happenings at GameStop stores.
