Ubisoft's much discussed Assassin's Creed hits retailers today. The game is available as a Xbox 360 Limited or Regular Edition and a Playstation 3 Limited or Regular Edition. Whether you choose to get the bonus goods or not, if you have both consoles, you still have to pick from the PS3 or Xbox 360 version.
CVG has a PS3 Vs Xbox 360 Assassin's Creed comparison video here, where they note "the PS3 version does look a bit sharper," while the "Xbox 360 version makes up for this with (arguably) better controls". Then there's that sketchy edit to IGN's review that Destructoid busted. On the marketing side, there's been some confusion, as Sony had its Playstation 3 logo placed at the end of on-air ads of Assassin's Creed (as discussed on Microsoft's GamerscoreBlog Podcast). Sony also did a celebrity party with many of the cast members of Heroes around playing the game. Seems like Sony has put in quite an interest on the title. Mixed reviews of the game itself don't help, as evident at GameRankings.com (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3). If you have any doubts, you can always rent it first and get yourself an Altair Action Figure Me personally, I'm a sucker for limited edition bundles and achievements, and I'm up for a new kind of game, so the Limited Xbox 360 version is coming today. Watch the launch trailer below. Visit the official website here for more on Assassin's Creed. Let us know your thoughts on the game!
