Double Fine posts word that Psychonauts will be available for free for PCs from GameTap (here). GameTap is providing free play of Psychonauts until January 31, 2008. If you're thinking about picking it up from the Xbox Live Marketplace on December 4th, there's a good way to try it out. Check out the game detail page on Xbox.com for more on the upcoming digital download. Game instructions for the Xbox title are provided online there too. Psychonauts will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) next week from the Xbox 360's Marketplace.
