A sign of things to come or a fluke? The Playstation 3 outsold the Wii in Japan for the first time since both console launched a year ago. It wasn't by a huge margin. November console sales for the Playstation 3 were 183,217 units, while the Wii sold 159,193 units. A likely contributor to the boost of sales? The debut of the new lower cost Playstation 3 40 GB model, for 39,980 yen ($341). The white Playstation 3 started selling in Japan on November 11th. Force feedback (aka rumble) also returned to Japan's PS3s in November with the release of the DualShock 3 Playstation 3 controller. We'll have to see if the US PS3 sales show a significant jump once November NPD numbers are released. The PlayStation 3 40GB Spider-Man Movie Pack From Reuters
