Here's one of the upcoming Wii games of early 2008 to keep a lookout for. No More Heroes. This is a Wii game which its director promises to be "as violent or even more violent than Manhunt 2." Goichi Suda (aka Suda 51), the director of the previously released GameCube/PS2 game Killer 7, and Grasshopper Manufacture, Inc. are set to release the Ubisoft published title sometime in January/February 2008. The "beam katana" (lightsaber looking weapon) is one of the main weapons used by the protagonist, Travis Touchdown. The game carries the unique cell-shaded art style seen in Killer 7.
About No More Heroes: "No More Heroes tells the story of Travis Touchdown, an anime fan who lives in the fictional town of Santa Destroy, California. After an unexpected turn of events, Travis finds himself at the bottom of an Assassins' organization. Travis will have to prove himself worthy and defeat 10 other bloodthirsty killers - all with deep stories of their own - to make his way to the top of the assassin's league." See the No More Heroes Japanese website here. No More Heroes is rated M for Mature for "Blood and Gore, Crude Humor, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language." Check out the first 10 minutes of the game below (from Gamersyde) for a sampling of what's coming.
