Here's one to get you hyped for more Gears of War: Gears of War: The Pendulum Wars - The Battle of Aspho Fields, by Steven L. Kent. The book currently appears on Amazon.com's UK site. It's a prequel story to the original Xbox 360 Gears of War game.
A summary of the book: The Gears of War Pendulum Wars "builds upon the characters backstories and gives eager fans their first in-depth look at some of the past events that shaped the games world." Gears of War fans should recall The Pendulum Wars from the game. The Pendulum Wars ended with the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) taking control of the planet, which quickly came to an end with the Locust Horde taking it over on "Emergence Day."
