Looks like Sony will be making some new announcements on the PSP at CES 2008 next week. Actually this one looks like it was accidently slipped out prematurely. On Sony's CES 2008 website, there's a feature listed under the PSP System Features that hasn't been announced by SCEA yet. That's Skype for PSP. Using Skype on the Sony PSP should be happening soon. As the image taken from the Sony CES 2008 site says: "Call friends, trash talk to fellow gamers or catch up with acquaintances via Skype for the PSP system."

So could the PSP Camera and Mic be far behind for the PSP?

Sorry, but i do not know how good this service will be on the PSP.

I personally think that the combination of PS3,Sykpe,PS-Eye and Big-Ass-TV would imply/allow voice and video chat with "millions" of people not just the 2 people i know with a PS3, all from the comfort of my living room (and plus the cool factor is huge ).

Maybe they could modify the existing chat client to use the skype API when not looking up PSN users or to load my contact list from skype as well as my PSN buddy list.

I really just think it would be the thing that makes the PS3 the multimedia hub that it is destined to be.

I hope they do it before M$ gets their paws on that idea.
