PC Gamers Soon To Do Some Unreal Tournament III Playstation 3 Mod 'Cooking' Of Their Own PDF Print E-mail

Mark Rein gave an update on the Unreal Tournament III mod support "cooking" for the Playstation 3. While Epic Games has helped bring several mods over to the Playstation 3 in the interim, PC Unreal Engine 3 modders will be able to do it themselves soon. Possibly by early next week.

From the Unreal Tournament 3 Forums on Epic Games: "We're very close to releasing an update to the Unreal Engine 3 editor, that comes with the PC version of UT3, that will allow UT3 mod-makers to cook their mods into the required PS3 format. We've been doing some internal testing and we're hoping to expand to a wider group tomorrow or Friday. If all goes well then we should see the update released next week which is what I expect will happen. Obviously the process works, as we put out a few mods before Christmas and people seem to be playing them, but it is the update to the editor that we're testing."

Keep in mind that to do Playstation 3 mods yourself, you'll need the PC version of Unreal tournament III, which includes the Unreal Engine 3 Editor. If you just want to enjoy the mods, you can enjoy them from PC UT3 modders without the PC version of the game. Any PS3 gamers picking up the PC version to do some cookin' of your own?
