Here's the official announcement from Namco Bandai Games confirming their collaboration with LucasArts to bring Darth Vader and Yoda to Soulcalibur IV. The announcement confirms (just as suspected earlier) that each platform will get one character.
"As part of this monumental collaboration, the Sith Lord Darth Vader will appear as a guest character in the PLAYSTATION3 system version of the title, and Jedi Master Yoda will be available for the Xbox 360." Seems like an appropriate selection for each console. At least about the color schemes, right? Black and red for Playstation 3 and green for Xbox 360. Nothing to do with dark and light side of "the force"... A bit disappointing that we can't have a Darth Vader vs. Yoda face off. “We’re very excited to work with NAMCO BANDAI and be a part of their efforts to take Soulcalibur to the next level,” said Kevin Kurtz, director of marketing at LucasArts. “Adding our iconic Star Wars characters to NAMCO BANDAI’s great game franchise is a match made in heaven, and we think Darth Vader and Yoda will be formidable opponents in the game.” See a video trailer below announcing Darth Vader and Yoda as well as screenshots from each below (click for a larger version). Soulcalibur IV will be released in Summer 2008 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Read more on Soul Calibur 4 below. From NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc
