Resistance 2 Coming For Playstation 3: 8 player co-op, 60 player online

Looks like Insomniac Games is taking Resistance: Fall of Man up quite a notch for the second go-around. Resistance 2 has been confirmed and is featured in a world exclusive cover story by Game Informer magazine (February 2008 issue). Right from the cover below, you can see the numbers go up a level, not only for the Resistance game, but for console gaming in general: 60 player battles online, 8 player co-op, two campaigns (single player and the 8 player co-op version).

Some more information from readers who have already gotten their hands on the magazine (via NeoGAF):
- One campaign focusing on Nathan Hale across 1950's USA invaded by the Chimera
- One campaign focusing on a squad of soldiers, supports 2 players offline, 8 players Online Co-op
- Online Multiplayer (dedicated servers) supporting 60 people, lobbies for individual squads
- Classes for Online, templates include Heavy, Special Ops, Medic
- New vehicles including Chameleon (Stalker with cloak)
- Insane stat tracking & Community features coupled with MyResistance.net
