NPD Group video games sales number are in for the holiday month of December 2007 and 2007 yearly totals for the gaming industry. There was plenty of gaming gift-giving in December 2007, amounting to $4.82 billion in sales (total $17.94 billion for 2007). Nintendo led the gaming hardware push with its Wii and DS as the top two sold gaming consoles. The Xbox 360 held top spots in the games category with Halo 3 being the number one sold game for 2007 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the 360 being the number one game for the month of December 2007. The Playstation 2 is still kicking for Sony, with the PSP and Playstation 3 contibuting to their share as well.

2 - Wii: 1.35 million units
